Job Description
Title: Hardware Test Engineer
Location: Prescott AZ
Duration: 12 months
Role purpose (position scope):
This position is responsible for transitioning existing prototype design through V&V to qualification/initial production design. This person should be able to use a greater knowledge of engineering discipline, processes and tools within the job discipline in order to complete and ensure designs meet requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, modify, and tests electrical components, circuits, sub-assemblies, equipment, systems, products, LRU's, and/or networks.
- May include various types of electrical designs, such as RF, Analog, Digital, etc.
- May include working at the hardware software interface boundary, such as programmable logic devices (FPGA's, etc.).
- Evaluate and test design to ensure program compliance.
- Communicate and coordinate cross-functionally with other areas of Engineering.
- Defends technical positions when appropriate.
- Communicates any non-compliance and the results of any internal project audits to pertinent parties.
- Comply and uphold Canyon AeroConnect SHE policies and standards.
- Comply with the Canyon AeroConnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in avionics electronics development. These designs will be for avionics products and therefore need to pass testing in support of FAA and FCC certification. Previous design for government certification is a plus.
- Experience with DO-160 Qualification Testing,
- Experience with avionics design certification standards; DO-254, DO-178,
- Experience with Altium and Cadstar schematic capture and PCB Layout
- Experience transitioning new products into production.
- Experience with Interfaces: SMBus, SPI, I2C, RS-232, RS-422/485, PCIe, XFI, RGMII, SerDes, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, also single-ended and differential data bus/control.
- Deep understanding of High-Speed Signal Integrity and analysis tools such as Hyperlynx.
- General Avionics or helicopter pilot experience
